Programs & Services

 

The GriefCare Place offers a progressive program of grief care. It introduces those grieving the death of a loved one to the normal grieving/healing process in a sensitive and gentle way. "Until Healing Comes" is the foundational support group, as well as, the groups listed below that were specifically created to provide additional support in a smaller group format.

 

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

 

Individual Counseling - for children, teens and adults that need help making sense of life after the death of a loved on. FLYER

 

 CARE GROUPS 

 
Until Healing Comes - the foundational program of The GriefCare Place is "Until Healing Comes" which is a general bereavement class for adults.  Led by Founder and Director, Lou-Ann Redmon.
 

Bereaved Parents - for newly bereaved parents who have experienced the death of a child. Led by Carole Hegedus and Kim Bresky.

 

Parents Farther Along - scheduled as needed for parents who have moved past the intense, acute period of grief. Led by Carole Hegedus and Kim Bresky.

 

Faith Perspective for Parents - a Christian-based faith perspective support group for parents who have experienced the death of child. This group meets periodically throughout the year. Please contact The GriefCare Place for more information. (scheduled as needed)

 

Widows - for women of any age who have experienced the death of their husband. Led by Edie English.  

 

Men - for men who have experienced the death of their wife or other loved one. Led by Dave Newbauer.

Teen/College Email Support
- meeting the need for support "where they are" through technology by using e-mail.  Exclusively for teenagers starting at age 13 through college age students who have experienced the death of a loved one. Contact The GriefCare Place at 330-686-1750 to get started. 

Kids’ Time
- for children, 5 years to 14 years old, who have experienced the death of a loved one. Led by Susan Deitrick.   
 
Moving Ahead - designed for widows and widowers who have learned about the grief process and have moved into at least the second year of healing; periodic social activities.  Led by Betty Hack.
 
Suicide - scheduled as needed.  Please contact The GriefCare Place for more information.

 

RESOURCE LIBRARY

 

Printed materials and audio-visual resources related to grief are available in The GriefCare Place’s well-supplied lending library. These materials are designed to provide support and encouragement to individuals of all ages who have experienced the death of a loved one. They may also be used by individuals and professionals who desire to help the bereaved. Books and audio-visual materials may be checked out for a period of two weeks.
